Reflection: Student Communication External Parts - Section 2: Take-off (Warm-up)

It's really important that when a student has a wrong answer, they are given some prompting or asked the question in another way, before moving on to another "correct" student.  It's important that we build students' self-confidence in this way!  In this video clip, a student answers why she thinks we sang, "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes."  Her answer is something along the lines of because their brilliant teacher (that's me) wants them to think.  I followed up with a few questions to lead her to the connection between the song and our essential question-- the song touches on external parts!  I know sometimes it's tempting to call on the hands shooting up all around a friend, but I encourage you to help the friend and her classmates all arrive at the correct conclusion.
