Reflection: Checks for Understanding Compare/Contrast - Same Same or Different Different? - Section 4: Closure - Hot Potato Topping!


Students were very engaged during the closing activity. No one knew when it was going to be their turn, so they remained alert throughout. The ball also required them to focus on the speaker. As a result, few responses were repeated. I will definitely use this closing activity again.

Big Idea: When students have seen a movie adaptation of a book, they often give details from the movie when asked about the book. This fun lesson helps students clearly see the difference between the two and prepare them to compare/contrast stories.
