Reflection: Student Ownership Fluency and Comprehension - Section 2: Independent Practice

 

As I met with students, I asked them to recount what fluent reading sounds like and its purpose. I wanted them to keep in mind the characteristics of a fluent reader and the importance of fluent reading. There were responses such as, "It helps you understand the story better," and "If you say it the same way as the character, you can tell their feelings."
