Reflection: Adjustments to Practice Tracking Common Themes in Post-Modern Poetry - Section 3: Application

 

While this activity ended up going EXTREMELY well in my classes, I would have done things a lot differently if we hadn't have gotten slammed by Jack Frost and his -30 degree winter this year.  Next year, I intend on keeping the framework of this assignment the same, but instead of doing the whole thing as a large group, I would have students break into small groups to analyze one of the poems and present it to the whole class for discussion.  I love projects that have students "teach" students, and had we the time, it would have been more successful and meaningful that way.  I'd suggest it in your own classroom if you have the time!
