Reflection: Connection to Prior Knowledge The Caterpillars Body - Section 2: Engage

 

Robert Marzano says that cues and questions should focus on activating prior knowledge and avoiding questions that focus on the unusual.  I purposely ask a question that will activate the children's prior knowledge about systems.  Because this is most likely the first time they have experience learning about systems in their education career, it will be important to have many opportunities to explore and experience the word and the concept of systems.
