Reflection: Staircase of Complexity Introducing Transitions - Section 2: Transitions

 

I always introduce a wide range of transition words to my seventh graders because many of them limit the transitions to numbers and lastly.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that they can use these words in their writing but I would like them to expand their vocabulary.  This video and tree map show students that there are reasons for using certain words and just any transition will not do.
