Reflection: Classroom Setup Be Specific - Section 1: Engage

This activity allows me to be myself in front of the students.  Since they are all new to the school and most have come from different elementary schools, they need an opportunity to get to know each other. This activity allows for that initial interaction.  If I am silly with them, they tend to get the point of the lesson much more quickly. Academically, they begin to practice their writing in terms of using specificity and vocabulary.  This activity sets the tone for the kind of writing we will be doing in science class.
