Reflection: Routines and Procedures First Day of School - Section 3: Exit Slip

I want students to feel safe in my classroom. At the same time, I push for high expectations and challenge students to engage in their own productive struggle.  I use some humor within the discussion when appropriate.

Exit slips are one of the methods that I use often for a quick formative assessment.  Allowing students to practice some activities without fear of failing from grades is important.  Sometimes I do grade the Exit Slip for a small amount of points to provide feedback.  This allows students to see their mistakes, and make corrections before the unit test.
