Reflection: Complex Tasks Maximizing Volume - Day 1 of 2 - Section 2: Explore


Here is an example of some work that my students did in class during this activity. I really like how they used structure to organize their work. The numbers represent the length, width, and height of the box after it was assembled. The students also found the volume of each combination.

These students were using guess and check, but they organized their work in such a way that they were able to jump directly to an equation with just a little guidance.
