This is the first time students have used their hearing to understand a concept in history. This unit is all about students understanding in context what it means to mature in life. The influences of this maturity is what students are focusing on in this lesson. Listen to the teacher talk over musical lyrics activity video to gain a full understanding of what students truly gained from this lesson. In regards to meeting CC expectations with informational text, this lesson starts students on a path of seeing the benefits and setbacks of how music taught through different mediums can impact thier comprehension on the maturing of America.
