Reflection: Real World Applications Adverbs - Where Did It Happen? - Section 4: Closure

I try to incorporate other standards into lessons as a review or real-life application. This makes learning relevant and applicable to students’ lives. Adding the simple instruction of finding images to compliment the sentences gave students the opportunity to use their knowledge of keywords from CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.3.5. This was not a lesson on informational text, but students were able to apply their knowledge in a different context. They also had to use their speaking skills (CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.3.6 to explain the function of the adverb in the sentence.
