Reflection: Student Ownership Commas in a Series - Section 1: Let's Notice

 

I’ve used this technique based upon Everyday Editing by Jeff Anderson.  It’s a way that students get involved in conventions.  Provides a means for them to demonstrate their vast knowledge and incorporate new concepts.  They get excited as they are able to identify various concepts accurately and also are able to model the new concept being introduced.  In general, the class feels successful.
