Reflection: Student Communication Practicing Addition using Versa Tiles - Section 4: Closure

"Talk" in the classroom is so very important.  A lot of time, as teachers, we may not let the students' voices be heard.  I like for my students to talk during collaborative learning and whole class discussions.  We would be so amazed at how much a student can enhance to learning in the classroom.

With this particular lesson, the students had fun practicing addition.  This was not only practice, but the students were challenged to think.  I heard productive talk as I walked around the room.  There was laughter because they were enjoying the lesson.
