Reflection: Pacing Discovery: Who Are Scientists? - Section 7: Vocabulary Introduction

While doing this activity today, I was reminded again of how important pacing is.  I need to go slow enough that students don't feel rushed and scared but fast enough to keep their attention.  Today was the first time we had done this vocab protocol this year and I found that after modeling it once, the students were ready to go slowly through one word and then the other words were up to speed.  In fact, there was a great deal of excitement because of the speed and when I applauded at the end many kids did as well showing their enthusiasm.
