Reflection: Lesson Planning Today I Feel... - Section 2: ACTIVITY

When you are planning to implement this lesson in the classroom it is important to have as many resources for the students to draw upon as possible.

Mirrors are a great resource for students to use as they can practice how their faces change to create an emotion. Then they can look at the emotional pictures in the story book and look at the emotion cards to see if the illustrations reflect what they saw themselves in the mirror.

You can support this by discussing what the students saw in the mirror and asking what they see in the illustration. For example, "I notice your eyebrows went down in the middle and creases appeared between them when you practiced begin mad. Does the illustration you are looking at have the same detail? Why do you think the illustrator did that?"
