Reflection: Modeling Annotate a Text For Purposeful Reading - Section 4: Annotate a Text

The introductory lines in this essay offer a great opportunity to illustrate annotation and its purpose. I was able to point out a variety of thoughts these few lines would prompt in an effective reader. This helps illustrate the idea that they are to be fully engaged when they read. It also illustrate another idea I want students to understand, which is that when we try and make sense of a text, it is important to pay attention to all the information that is clearly provided to guide our reading.
