## Reflection: Discourse and Questioning Prep for CCSS Assessments: Explaining Estimation in Writing Part 1 - Section 1: Warm up.

Wording makes a huge difference in their conceptual understanding! CCSS require me to make sure the concept is clearly demonstrated through instruction and language. It is now about dialogue and language more than math has ever been! I think it makes learning math, rich! Suddenly, the lesson segued right into the idea that zero's function is so important! As CCSS takes hold, I predict that students will have clearer understanding of place value and that language will change in their explanations to be more precise. This is exciting!
