Reflection: Intervention and Extension Open Nets - Section 3: Closer


Pentominoes are awesome!  I think I could spend a whole week on creating and using activities that go along with them.  There are many extensions for the investigation the students completed today. 

Students could…

  • compare the perimeter to the area of the shapes
  • fill a square with the pentominoes as a puzzle
  • do the activity again with hexominoes
