Reflection: Unit Exams Island of the Blue Dolphins: Reviewing RL 2 - Section 2: Teaching Strategy

I find that grading one night after a test is very difficult, but the immediate feedback scholars receive is invaluable.  Therefore, I try my best to plan quizzes and unit assessments on a Friday.  That way, I have a weekend to grade, comment and plan a review lesson for Monday.  If this is not possible, then try to use your lunch/planning and time after and before school to grade and finalize the review lesson plans.  Students get SO much out of learning from their mistakes that you don't want to miss this opportunity for immediate re-teaching!!

I also find that if I wait a few days to do the review lesson, scholars have a tendency to forget their train of thought (particularly on the PCR) and are less invested in the review process.
