Reflection: Students with Disabilities Processes of Science - Section 2: Sorting and Talking


Students with special needs can often have trouble with note taking. If this is the case, I might have these students listen and then review with them what they can share and more about their step before they present. I will also assign each of these students a different number and to a different group so that while I walk around and monitor I can be available to assist these students as they present to their peers. All the while giving them credit while I prompt them through their step. When they believe and trust you will have their backs to help them, they will begin to take more risks to participate with their peers.

Processes of Science

Unit 1: Opening Science
Lesson 4 of 7

Objective: SWBAT sort and define the process and steps of science.

Big Idea: Students will learn the scientific process and the vocabulary that connects to it. They will then practice putting the process together and will create a visual reminder for them to use.
