## Reflection: Lesson Planning Math Hunt Part 2 - Section 2: Formulating Questions and Answers

I have chosen to move students into their groups before working on a sample problem with the whole group. I find that students have difficulty sitting and listening for too long so moving to a new location can give them a chance to regain their attention. I also put in stretch breaks, such as 10 jumping jacks, hopping to their new seats, running in place while they count to 50 etc. It encourages counting skills and gets students moving.

Every group of students is different. If you feel that you will not be able to get the attention from the students again after they move to small groups, you can keep them on the rug while you work out the sample problems together.

## Big Idea: Students have gathered data on where math is used both at school and at home. Data by itself is meaningless. The students will be introduced to using the data to answer questions.
