Reflection: Adjustments to Practice Rewriting Text - Section 1: Warm Up

When choosing a reading selection for the passage students will improve, I suggest going down a grade level.  My reasoning- the objective is for the kids to read examples of more simplified articles, and this will definitely be accomplished in a below grade level text.  This is not to say that there aren't 5th grade reading comprehension passages in desperate need of word choice improvement, but finding a good one will be easier if it's 3rd or 4th grade.  It also gives the less advanced readers great opportunity for success.
