Reflection: Routines and Procedures Revising Our Argument for Presentation Part 2 - Section 1: Warm Up

It is very tempting to skip free reading time when we have so much to do and need every minute for preparation for presentations.  I face this many times -as I'm sure many teachers do, and wonder (because often we run out of time) would I just skip the reading.  They can read at home, right?

What I come back to every time is -if I do not value the reading time, what does that tell my students?  We've utilized Free Read Friday all year.  My students love the time and count on it.  So, we make due with the time like always.  In spite of the time crunches from time to time, it's the right decision.
