Reflection: Unit Planning Pen Pal Project - Section 2: Lesson/Independent Work

The opportunity to take part in the Spring session of Penpal News came up last fall.  I knew my students would be working on informational/argument writing at this point and saw it as a perfect opportunity to build real world communication into what we would be doing.

As teachers we are bombarded with opportunities for our students.  When this opportunity knocked the fit seemed too perfect to pass up.  I had the laptops, the topic fit our unit, and the program could be utilized on a large or small scale to fit our needs.

I am a ways into the program with my students and already am glad we took part.  I do plan to do this again next year.
