Reflection: Intervention and Extension Who Stole the Cookies From the Cookie Jar? - Section 2: Procedure

When I started teaching this lesson, I kept coming up with other ideas I wanted to try with the cookie theme.  Sometimes there is space for these activities, and sometimes when we add too much, the main objective gets lost.  I really had to rein myself in because I kept adding these impromptu ideas. I adapted my weekly plans then so I could try some of these new ideas like this one where I used the same chart to locate high frequency words.

My other idea was to take the blank cookies and write letters on them, place them all on the board and then hide one, so that the song might say,"Who stole the Dd from the cookie jar?"
