Reflection: Grappling with Complexity What Can We Do Together? - Section 2: Interact with text/concept


The question on page 12 is an inferential question.  The students have to really think about what they see in the picture and what they  know about cleaning.  I often have to lead the kids through the process of making an inference by ‘thinking aloud,’ but this is the first step to them being able to do it independently!  The last question is where the kids make the text to self connection and have to offer proof as to their choice.  This lays the foundation for opinion writing that comes later.
