Reflection: Lesson Planning Writing a Script: Pen to Paper - Section 3: Did They Get It?

To prepare for tomorrow's task, there is a little bit of preparation work to do.  First, I have to choose an exemplar to use for a class set of "competition" scripts.  I am going to choose one that seems to be a bit different, a bit more creative than the others.  Since students are going to be doing compare/contrast writing, I want to make sure they have ample source material.

I will also have to make sure that each student has a copy of his or her own script.

That's a lot of work!

Usually, I make an effort to streamline my job as much as possible.  However, in this case I think there is real value in each student having their own script and the script of a peer to use for a compare/contrast argumentative piece.

This is as real world as it gets: Here's my work, here's the work of the competition, and now I'm going to tell my audience why my work deserves to be produced!

I do think, though, that I will hang on to the exemplar set each year and build up a stockpile.  That way, I can break out a set and/or allow students to choose one to use in the years to come!

This is a lot of work!
