Reflection: Modeling Writing to Sources-Zlateh's Goat - Section 2: Instruction


I learned my lesson the last time we did writing and I attempted to just let them loose! Today, I knew that taking the time to model through a piece and giving them practice was going to be essential to the success of this lesson.  I was 100 percent correct! 

The modeling went very well and the students LOVED the topic.  They had many claims and arguments to use and that I was able to work with-changing into good claims.  

As a class, we worked to develop our claims, counterclaims, and even started to write.  I knew that they were ready to attempt it all on their own!
