Reflection: Writing Across the Disciplines The Life Cycle of a Butterfly Day 2 of 2 - Section 5: Independent Writing

How did my students do with my writing? Let's look at their entries.

In the writing piece, What I Learned About Butterflies 6, I feel the writer did a very good job of explaining his knowledge of butterflies by giving good factual details of butterflies. He still needs to work on improving his printing, but his word displays good usage of time order words.

Next, in the writing piece, What I Learned About Butterflies 7, the writer does another good job of giving descriptive details about the butterfly. As the above entry, there is good usage of time order words, and there is also good printing.

The piece, What I Learned About Butterflies 8, also has vey good descriptive details about butterflies. Again, there is good usage of time order words and vocabulary words.

The writing piece, What I Learned About Butterflies 9, contains some good details, but it is not as descriptive as the others. There is good usage of time order words, but the printing needs improvement.

Lastly, the writing piece, What I Learned About Butterflies 10, shows descriptive details about butterflies. I liked reading about how the legs are attached from the thorax. It shows this student was paying close attention to what the text was saying.

Overall, my students did very well with this assignment. I was very happy to see the quality of academic language integrated in their writing.
