Reflection: Self-Graded Rubrics Biography: Publishing an Informative Essay - Section 3: Assessment


The checklist outlined a standard for typed work. Before I implemented the checklist, students would use large, fancy fonts in extreme colors. I wanted them to know the standard for academic submissions. Fancy fonts and colors are fine (to a certain extent) for invitations and flyers. Knowing the standard prepares them for expectations in later grades.

Big Idea: Students use a word processing program to type their biography report for the final stage of the writing process.
