Reflection: Connection to Prior Knowledge The Pig Family -ig - Section 2: Procedure

I like to teach new concepts with a connection to something the students are very familiar with, like, This Little Piggie.  If we use a nursery rhyme that is familiar, the children don't have to work so hard on memorizing AND learning the new concept.  Sometimes it is good to do both, but I really want the focus to be on the word family and this rhyme makes for a good segue.  Saying the rhyme several times during the lesson though will help any child who is not familiar with this nursery rhyme.
