Reflection: Connection to Prior Knowledge The Umbrella - Section 1: Warm Up and Reading the Story

In my warm up I show videos to introduce the new animals in the story.  I am "Front Loading" this information so that when I read the story they will already know what the animals are.  Our discussion during the book can be about the story and picture details and not of introducing the animal.  Showing my students these videos helps them know more about the animals so they can choose which animal is their favorite.
