Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Regular vs. Irregular Polygons - Section 1: Teacher Demonstration


During this lesson, I realized that I wanted to provide an opportunity for students to delve deeper into studying lines of symmetry so I created and shared another Google Presentation, Lines of Symmetry.pptx, for students to work on outside of our math time.

To provide students with concrete models, I passed around paper copies: Using Hands-On Models.MOV.

It took about 30 minutes to complete this project: Student Example of Lines of Symmetry.pptx. Again, students loved being able to draw on the computer to represent their thinking. Every student was 100% engaged!
