Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Using a Factor Pair Calculator to Check Factor Pairs from 51-100 - Section 2: Thinking about factor pairs differently today...

Exposure and Front Loading: I intended for this lesson as just an introduction to another idea about listing factor pairs and that it would not be practiced just yet, because we needed to continue listing factor pairs to 100...or a least get a good start on the process. I think it is good teaching practice to touch on related things sometimes in order to head off any misconceptions that may arise, or as a way of planting the seeds in their brains when it turns up in a word problem or real life situation. I think it helps my students adjust to the level of rigor that is expected in conceptual understanding too. This transition is tough!
