Reflection: Routines and Procedures Identify Related Facts - Day 2 of 2 - Section 4: Closing/Summarizing

 

This lesson went very well.  After the lesson was over I went back through the student journals and found that many of them seemed to grasp the concept.  Part of our daily routine is that we close out our lessons with journaling.  My students really like to write in their journal, and it makes them feel that they have taken a part of their own learning process.

Big Idea: It's all in the family! In this lesson, students will build fact family "houses" by using 3 numbers and writing the related addition and subtraction sentences.
