Reflection: Adjustments to Practice My Opinion: The Final Piece - Section 3: Partner Talk

I was surprised by the choices that were made today. The numbers of students in each group certainly weren’t even and for the prompt, ”The Places,” there was only student. Because students will work together in their groups to complete an impromptu project, I do allow this student to change groups if he’d like. However, I was surprised and pleased that he chose to remain with his original opinion.

I ended up making a few adjustments to groups that were large. Knowing that certain students would get “lost in the crowd” or take advantage of others doing all the work, I divided groups larger than five students into smaller groups. These groups still completed their work on the same topic, but received a new place to meet with fewer people in each.
