Reflection: Routines and Procedures Graphing and Solving Systems of Inequalities - Section 6: Exit Ticket: Solving Systems of Inequalities


For today's Exit Ticket students graphed to solve two systems of inequalities. I like to pair each day's Entry Ticket with an Exit Ticket that is almost like a post test for the lesson/day.

For this particular Exit Ticket, I want to assess the degree of understanding students are demonstrating regarding solving systems of inequalities by graphing. What I love about teaching math is the interconnectedness and spiraling nature of skills that build off of each other. That being said, I also assess the Exit Ticket in terms of how well students graphed the linear equation portion of the inequality. When used in conjunction with the day's Entry Ticket I can measure student growth in the previously taught skill of graphing a system of equations AND the current lesson's skill of graphing systems of inequalities.

Objective: SWBAT define variables and create and rearrange equations to model systems of inequalities. SWBAT interpret and solve systems of linear inequalities using algebra and graphing.

Big Idea: Students apply concepts learned about solving systems of equations and apply them to create, interpret and solve systems of inequalities!
