Reflection: Lesson Planning Author's Purpose: The proof is in the PIE - Section 2: Mini-Lesson

When modeling the Guide, it might be good to complete more than one to show a range of text and Author’s Purpose. When I did this lesson, I used our chapter Read Aloud book (entertain), our social studies textbook (inform), and an advertisement that was promoting American made cars (persuade). Since the Guides are quick and efficient, I was able to do that in within the 10 minute Mini-Lesson time frame.
