## Reflection: Real World Applications Exponential Decay Functions - Section 1: Warm Up and Homework Review

The answers that I got back on today’s warm up were very interesting.  I was expecting scenarios like Warm Up 2.  This has the accurate initial amount of 2 and increases appropriately (the five is the 1 original plus 4 additions).  Many of my students, like Warm Up 3, struggled with the growth concept and wanted to say that there were going to be 5 new additions.  Warm Up 1 was particularly interesting.  They got the increase right but switched the initial amount and the growth factor.  I am glad that we are talking about this more today as I think a certain number of my students need some additional experience working with exponential models to fully understand the concept.
