Reflection: Rigor Archaic Archives - Section 4: Rules to Archiving and Creating Teams

When leaving options open, like that of choosing each flaps questions, it is very important to walk around an monitor students work. I do this by walking around the room and checking in on each group of students. I help them with the selection process so that they move along and get questions down that they will need to answer later. If a group does not like the suggestion I give, I try another one. I want the groups to choose their own questions, but do so timely. If left to their own devices, they will become sidetracked or lose focus on which questions they want to answer.

Archaic Archives

Unit 17: Researching Basics
Lesson 9 of 10

Objective: SWBAT read, write, and collaborate with peers about an Archaic Native American group to have better understanding of the text that they can then share with the class.

Big Idea: To read a complex text and understand multiple Native American groups is hard. Students have a hard time remembering all of the facts that are within the text. In this lesson, students will work in small groups to answer text embedded questions.
