Reflection: Joy Fishing for Numbers - Section 4: Independent Practice

 

All humans need to have an element of joy while learning or working. For one, a sense of joy provides a feeling of security and two, it provides a relaxed way to learn and internalize information. Rote learning and memorization may serve a purpose, but should not be relied on for daily learning. Make your lessons fun and interesting to increase learning.

Objective: SWBAT to identify numbers 0-20 and match them with their quantities by fishing for numbers and matching them to the correctly dotted fish.

Big Idea: Young kids need many, many experiences with matching numbers to their quantities in order for them to become independent in basic number sense.
