Reflection: Lesson Planning The Titanic: The Discovery Part Two - Section 5: Closure

The purpose of today’s activities, of course, were designed to be interesting to students and update them on current efforts to save what is left of the Titanic. However, I also wanted this lesson to serve as a springboard into our next focus, which is opinion writing.

Today marks the last day of research in our extensive Titanic unit. Over the next two weeks, students will take what they’ve learned and use it while completing several opinion pieces. It is my hope that the questions today and the conversations throughout this unit will prepare students well to be successful in the next few weeks.
