Reflection: Student Communication Dichotomy Shapes Theme In Othello (Act II, sc i,ii) - Section 3: Building Knowledge: Analyzing Dichotomy in Othello

This section of the lesson was a complete failure. It was too much too fast.  The students are starting to grasp the language, structure, and characters of the play.  I should have just stuck with those three elements instead of trying to introduce a fourth literary element.  The only thing I accomplished was confusion.  The time remaining in the semester will not allow me to reteach dichotomy, so I need to let it go in the short term and return to it when I have the time to make sure the students truly comprehend the function of dichotomy in a text.
