Reflection: Cinder-Elly: Day 1 of Cinderella Unit - Section 3: Oral Presentations

The responses I gathered from the "Ticket out the Door"  student reflection indicate that they saw similarities and differences between perspectives of the traditional version of Cinderella and Cinder Elly.  Students also expressed that they liked working with teams during the creative process of making a hands-on project associated with this story.  Another important element that keeps students engaged is humor. They all remarked how unusual or  funny this story is and that is what kept their attention.  One student, who loves Legos and its virtual counterpart, Minecraft, suggested incorporating Legos into the hands-on project.  Common Core promotes authentic learning experiences that relates to virtual creativity as well.
