Reflection: Checks for Understanding Loyalty Discussion Using Question Formulation Technique - Section 4: Grammar Check


In this section, I look to see how well and with what facility the students created original sentences on the various grammar prompts.  The goal is for me to keep a short list of students who might need additional review and to follow up with them over the coming weeks.  The short exit slips can be a great way to do this kind of formative check on key usage issues (L.9-10.1).

Objective: SWBAT identify inquiry questions about Loyalty (a key theme in Julius Caesar) by engaging in a Question Formulation Technique (QFT) discussion.

Big Idea: We are beginning the cycle of inquiry in this unit by talking about the central theme of loyalty -- it is bound to have some personal hooks for the students.
