Reflection: Connection to Prior Knowledge Angles and Pattern Blocks - Section 2: Concept Development

The use of pattern blocks and determine angles for this lesson went very well.  Using the blocks a manipulatives and relating the angles formed by the blocks to a circle is something I have never done before, but something I will most definitely continue to do in the future. I feel like this lesson does a great job at preparing my students for future lesson when learning how to use a protractor. When students use the manipulatives in this lesson, they are truly deepening their understanding of angles as parts of circles and are able to make sense that an angle that turns through n one degrees angles is said to have an angle measure of n degrees. This lesson allowed my students to visually see that an angle is measured in degrees related to the 360 degrees in a circle.
