Reflection: Diverse Entry Points Training In Schools of Ancient Greece - Section 2: Choosing a Teacher

To help students that have a difficult time writing, I give them a set writing prompt to follow. I find that eliminating some of the words and having them preprinted helps students focus. Students do not worry about the small words but on the substance of what they need to write.

For this exercise I had my students with disabilities use the following sentence stems:

I chose _________________ for my teacher. I chose him because _____________________. __________________ is what I will learn from __________.

In stead of preprinting this I write it on the class white board for them to refer back to. I even invite these students to come sit on the floor by the white board.
