Reflection: Student Grouping Book Groups: Checking In - Section 3: Reading the Selection

Each of the five groups has been assigned a meeting table. I’ve assigned the red group to the front table, which is in a central location. This group reads a slower pace than most of the other students and sometimes needs a little extra support. Although I move around the room to conduct conferences during this time, I often return back to my front table to provide support for this group.

Over the past two days, I’ve noticed that this group has been falling behind in the reading. So today I plan to ask this group to remain at their meeting table so that I can read with them and help them get back on track.
