Objective: SWBAT create a story map for the story "Because of Winn-Dixie" following a group discussion.

Big Idea: Students will gain an understanding and appreciation of what experiences bring different people together by creating a story map for the story Because of Winn-Dixie. The story map will aid students in sequencing and summarizing.
