Reflection: Lesson Planning Adding Appropriate Gadgets to Your Blog - Section 3: Add a Blog Roll

As I have mentioned in a diff. reflection in this unit, students really don't read blogs.  So ... make them start!  Explain that a "Blog Roll" is an important part of all reputable blogs being published today -- everyone wants to know which blogs the exceptional bloggers are following.

In order to help students locate blogs for their "Blog Roll" use The Bloggies - the international renowned list of "best" blogs.  Give students ample time in class and/or for homework to browse this rich and extensive list of award winning blogs.  Ask them to select five or six, and bookmark them BEFORE they need to add to their new Blog Roll.  If you structure it correctly, you can do this during the same class period you use for adding the two gadgets.

make sure you discuss ACTUAL blogs before they add the Blog Roll!
